Your Robooter – Tips on cleaning
Cleaning the Robooter power wheelchair maintains its performance and looks and allows you many years of service.
We recommend you do not use high pressure power hoses or even oil-based cleaners which can harm the chair. The joystick is splash resistant but not waterproof so please use a damp cloth with warm water to clean and start by taking out the battery and ensure it has no power running to it then, weekly, simply wipe down the frame and wheels plus the armrests which can become dirty very quickly. Whilst cleaning ensure that you avoid any electrical contacts.
The chair pad is often the dirtiest part of the Robooter and you can easily (attached by Velcro) detach which allows you to clean it away from the chair.
The wheels can of course pick up mud and dirt from the road, and you check the tyres carefully to ensure they intact and free from any small stones, string or tape that may have wrapped around the wheel. You can use a hard brush to clean the treads. As with all the above make sure it’s dry before reconnecting the battery and setting off again.
